SIMON

Simon - Chiltern c.1930's - this cute one used to be covered in beautiful blue mohair but the ageing process and thousands of hugs have now left him with just a little coverage but he wears a lovely blue jumper which brings out his remaining colouring beautifully.  He has had quite a few ailments in his life - his right foot pad has been replaced, most of his claws are missing, he's had eye transplants and his body has been re-filled.  He was quite depressed about his looks when he came to live with me but I told him beauty is only skin deep and his personality is far more important - so no more nips and tucks - we have agreed he will now grow old au natural!

RARE C.1912 MOHAIR TEDDY BEAR PURSE

Very rarely found this is a beautiful teddy bear purse.  It was purchased from a 95 year old lady who had received it as a gift in Montana when she was just 3 years old.  It is in quite good condition considering the age and retains original white cotton lining, original mother of pearl button , original eyes and original ring behind the right ear, light coloured stitched nose and mouth.  I think at some point it would have been fully covered in white mohair as the body still has small coverage but hardly any remains on the arms, face and ears.  A very interesting item.

HERBIE - 1930'S 13" GREEN TEDDY

Up for re-homing here is Herbie from my own collection - a lovely 1930's green teddy.  Coloured teds are becoming increasingly difficult to find so he is rather special.   He still retains 90% beautiful green mohair, deep colouring on his back, faded on his front but still very green.  All original features, glass eyes and black nose and mouth stitching.  Three of his pads are worn but could easily be replaced.  Super ted.

SAPPHIE.

Wonderful German bear circa 1920's - stands over 25", retains approx. 60% short white mohair, stunning blue glass eyes, original felt on paws and feet, non working growler and small marks here and there.  At sometime he has had stitch repairs to his paws and to his right ankle and heel.  His paw and feet pads need replacing and his claw stitching is loose on his right paw and both feet.   However he is an incredibly strong boy in a highly sought after colour and size.

STOWIE - 1950'S MUSICAL PANDA

This is Stowie, so called because as you can seen I caught him out trying to stowaway on a slow boat back to China!  He is 18" in height and is in excellent condition for a 50+ year old,  with bright blue glass eyes with black felt backing, black felt nose.  He has rexine pads which are worn and black claw stitching.  He has the key wind in his back which plays Brahms Lullaby and is in perfect working order.  There is a little loss of fur around the key wind but otherwise excellent fur coverage.  There is also a very tiny pink mark on his tummy fur but hardly visible.

ASHLEY - 1930's 21" WHITE CHAD

This is the very handsome Ashley, a very unusual white Chad.  He is in very good condition with just a couple of home made stitches by his left arm and shifting in the tops of his arms  in the usual places where he would have been carried around.  He still has the red Chad label on his right card lined foot but his left foot no longer has the card and has a couple of repair stitches.  He still has his original claw stitching (one on his left foot is loose and needs to be secured), black nose and mouth and lovely orange and black glass eyes.

LITTLE BOY BLUE

Another highly sought after coloured bear - this one dates from around the 1950's, height 19", and is made of unusual blue artsilk, woodwool filled, plastic brown and black eyes, black vertical stitched nose, mouth and claws, cotton paws and pads (pads also card lined), short arms and big feet!  Very strong and solid.  A few blemishes here and there and the inside of his right ear has faded.

MYLES - 1940'S CHAD WITH 2 LABELS

This is just one of the prettiest and cutest Chads.  He is approx. 11.5" a rare size to find for a Chad and is covered in the most amazing long golden (almost orange) mohair.  He is beautifully clean and soooo soft and huggable.  He has loss of fur on his back, back of his head and at the top on the back of his right leg (where he has been sitting) but his frontal coverage is excellent.  Non working squeaker.  You don't get much cuter than this.
